Two for One

I received this submission from my wife's Grandfather:

There was an old monk who lived in Siberia,
who found life steadily drawing drearier.
One day he broke form his cell with a helluva yell
and eloped with the Mother Superior!!!!

Limerick Contest I

Finish the Limerick (no crude body references, please):

There once was a man named Barack,

(again, no crude body references, please)

Mama Kagan

(1) Elena Kagan chosen by Obama for Supreme Court
(2) Updated: Obama to Pick Pro-Abort Elena Kagan for Supreme Court
Mama Cass

Obama cited what he called Kagan's "openness to a broad array of viewpoints" and her "fair mindedness." [In other words, she will ignore the U.S. Constitution and history where necessary to suit her ideology, just like [Pres.] Obama.]

Elena Kagan

Despite what the news says she's brought,
I think that we've all got a shot:
Ev'n though she's so young
She might be among
Those whose weight will cut short what she's got.

BTW, Mama Cass didn't die from choking on a bone. She officially died from natural causes exasperated by her weight.

Pill in the News is Less-Appreciated

(1) America's favorite birth control method turns 50
(2) Andrew Breitbart: 'The Left is, in Essence, the Media'
(3) More Abortions Coming from Poor, Minority Women: Guttmacher
The FDA's response to the hazards of the pill led to greater access to safety information for patients, another less-appreciated part of the pill's legacy.

Today's pill, with much lower doses of hormones, is much safer than the pill of 50 years ago. And it may even be good for you.
...

And it didn't eliminate all unwanted pregnancies either. Nearly half of all pregnancies to U.S. women are unintended and nearly half of those end in abortion, according to the Guttmacher Institute, which has gathered data on abortions for years.
...
As suffragists worked for the vote, renowned birth control pioneer Margaret Sanger distributed pamphlets with contraceptive advice and dreamed of a magic pill to prevent pregnancy.

Her grandson, Alex Sanger, 62, now chair of the International Planned Parenthood Council, remembers playing catch as a boy with his famous grandmother and eating her firehouse-spicy food.

"My grandmother had the idea for the pill back in 1912 when she was working on the lower East Side of New York," Alex Sanger said. "She saw women resorting to back alley, illegal abortions. One too many of these women died in her arms and she said 'Enough.'
-Carla K. Johnson, AP Medical Writer

The Pill: don't you know that it would
Push Sanger right up to sainthood.
'Cept preborns are killed
When prescriptions are filled.
Now hormones are lower: That's good?

Imagine Sen. Mikulski with DHS

(1) Mikulski files for Senate re-election campaign
(2) Did DHS pressure teen to get abortion?

Background:
US Senior Sen. Mikulski (1) was a social worker in Maryland, (2) co-sponsored FOCA, (3) claims to be Roman Catholic, (4) ran against Alan Keyes for U.S. Senate (MD) just like [Pres] Obama did in Illinois, and (5) spends money like there is no tomorrow (almost literally). Everyone loves her since she spends tax money on them (except those who don't think she should spend tax payer money like water).

Mikulski for Senate forever:
Her spending is quite an endeavor.
Her populist stance
Puts all in a trance
T'ward debt that seems light as a feather.

---

If DHS had her on staff,
Would teenagers also get gaffed,
Cajoled with threats?
I'd place some bets
Mikulski would force the distaff.

(BTW, I'd hope to be wrong.)

distaff = Woman as a group
gaff = Slang. Harsh treatment : abuse

The Condom and Pill Make More People Ill

(1) Boston University, at the instigation of its president, John Silber, has assumed management responsibilities for the Chelsea School District. One thing the School District decided to do was to distribute condoms to high school students in order to save lives threatened by AIDS. Edwin J. Delattre, dean of BU's School of Education, gave a speech urging that the decision be reversed. In the course of his remarks he cited the following report from the Richmond Times-Dispatch: “Dr. Theresa Crenshaw, a member of the national AIDS Commission and past president of American Association of Sex Education Counselors and Therapists told a Washington conference of having addressed an international meeting of 800 sexologists: ‘Most of them,' she said, ‘recommended condoms to their clients and students. I asked them if they had available the partner of their dreams, and knew that person carried the virus, would they have sex, depending on a condom for protection? No one raised their hand. After a long delay, one timid hand surfaced from the back of the room. I told them that it was irresponsible to give advice to others that they would not follow themselves. The point is, putting a mere balloon between a healthy body and a deadly disease is not safe.'“ Delattre comments: “I want all of our students in Chelsea to know what is at stake here—and, above all, what lies in their power alone, not ours, to accomplish decisively in the way of saving lives. I want them to know that betting your life—or letting someone else bet your life—on a condom is a gamble that only one in eight hundred experts on sexual behavior is willing to risk, and that if our own students behave otherwise, they make a mockery of their stated commitment, expressed over and over again in this room, to saving lives. And I want all the students who have taken it upon themselves to distribute condoms in Chelsea High School to know that this is the gamble they have invited their classmates to take—and this, in a community where health officials themselves express fear over current levels of AIDS in the population.”
(For a copy of the complete address, write Dean Delattre, School of Education, Boston University, 605 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.)
(2) A medical trial published in the journal AIDS in 2009—monitoring HIV progression by the need for antiretroviral drugs (ART)—saw “the risk of becoming eligible for ART was almost 70% higher in women taking the pills and more than 50% higher in women using DMPA [Depo-Provera] than in women using IUDS.

The Condom and Pill Make More People Ill

(1) Since th'alternative's full

Black Republican Not Oxymoron

Black Minister Forms PAC to Break Dems Party's
'Death Grip' on Black Community

Michael Steele Tells Blacks: You Don’t Have a Reason to Vote Republican

Old DNC was for enslaving
Republicans were for the paving

Old Lincoln (R) made waves
Then the owners went ranting and raving.

Their community more chances to live:
But the Donkeys say cheers

Their offspring get screwed and outlived.

(DNC = Democratic National Convention)

Marriage is neither a conservative nor a liberal issue; it is a universal human institution, guaranteeing children fathers, and pointing men and women toward a special kind of socially as well as personally fruitful sexual relationship. Gay marriage is the final step down a long road America has already traveled toward deinstitutionalizing, denuding and privatizing marriage. It would set in legal stone some of the most destructive ideas of the sexual revolution: There are no differences between men and women that matter, marriage has nothing to do with procreation, children do not really need mothers and fathers, the diverse family forms adults choose are all equally good for children. What happens in my heart is that I know the difference. Don't confuse my people, who have been the victims of deliberate family destruction, by giving them another definition of marriage.

DFLA Long Shot

From DFLA email:
Day 1 - Inform and Reflect

Pro-life House Democrats who voted for the Republican-opposed health care bill are being targeted for defeat by the far right, despite these Democrats having histories of near 100% ratings by mainstream pro-life groups.
Due to these same Democrats' work on advancing the Hyde Amendment within the health care law and their history of near 0% ratings by NARAL, Planned Parenthood and the like, abortion advocates on the left are working overtime to see that these House members are at least challenged in primaries, if not defeated outright.

Based on the distortions promulgated by each side, the right and the left both claim that one cannot be pro-life and a Democrat. We know better!

Today, DFLA offers you information on the contents of the health care reform law specially intended to be concise, neutral, and devoted to fact, not driven by ideology or some supposed prophetic insight as to the outcome of all this. We invite you to arm yourself with facts so that you can speak out against disinformation and incivility. We also hope to encourage you to persevere as a pro-life Democrat and even to increase your activity in the Party and in your community in promoting our "whole life" ethic.

If there is only one party having a voice for the unborn, our nation will return to the stalemate we saw in the decades prior to the resurgence of pro-life Democrats in the late 2000's. Don't let it happen!

From the Kaiser Family Foundation: their new
Summary of the New Health Care Reform Law

From FactCheck.org, a service of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania : The Abortion Issue: What are the facts regarding the new health insurance law's federal funding for abortion, or lack of it?

From Politifact.com, a service of the St. Petersburg Times, the Austin American-Statesman, and the Miami Herald newspapers:

Rep. John Carter says health care law provides full federal funding for abortions, but that's not so
We invite your comments or requests for more information. Look for two more emails to follow during Pro-life Democrats Days. We need your support, thoughts, and prayers more than ever! Thank you.

Choir Music For Jesus

(I sing in this one too.)

Like life which is full of emotion,
Like the sounds of the breeze with the ocean,
The choir sing songs
Of which she longs
About Whom t'ward which all owes devotion.

Ave verum corpus natum
de Maria Virgine:
vere passum, immolatum
in cruce pro homine:
cuius latus perforatum
unda fluxit et sanguine:
esto nobis praegustatum,
in mortis examine.

Hail the true body, born
of the Virgin Mary:
You who truly suffered and were sacrificed
on the cross for the sake of man.
From whose pierced flank
flowed water and blood:
Be a foretaste for us
in the trial of death.

Aspiring Woman Priests for Mr. Pfeger et al.

Part of Mr. Pfeger's sermon:

(Auxiliary Bishop Frank Murphy for "woman priesthood" et al.?)

Aspiring Woman Priests for Mr. Pfeger et al.

We all know the Church is outdated
And we the true faithful berated
About some of the rules.
We are no darn fools
We'll just get some "Cath'lics" persuaded.

It's just not the "Cath'lics" we'll get
The Bishops we'll talk to and set
A date for rewarding
Apostates regarding
Some action(s) the world can't beset.

Ordinatio Sacerdotalis
4. Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal Tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the Magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church's judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force.

Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful.

Invoking an abundance of divine assistance upon you, venerable brothers, and upon all the faithful, I impart my apostolic blessing.

From the Vatican, on May 22, the Solemnity of Pentecost, in the year 1994, the sixteenth of my Pontificate.

We Have Gone Astray

(Double click above video to see translation;
see drop down box below video)
(I sing in them both above)

Have mercy on us Lord;
For we are not on board.
With Your wisdom that's so sweet
And Your will that can't be beat,
May Your mercy be forever outpoured.

When we act against your so just commands
The world just stains its blood on our hands.
If it's justice that we seek
Let us first be made so meek.
That in justice we ask for mercy in all lands.

Political Party Lament

Way back those darn Donkeys were slavers;
With some condoms they're real misbehavers.
NOW abortion's a right-
They will scream through the night
That those Cath'lics sure are some face-savers.

Republicans favor the rich-
Not just rich but like filthy rich rich.
Maybe 'bortion's a ploy,
And I'm just a toy,
But th'alternative's worse than jock itch.

They Know Not What They Do

1,800 Carry Cross of Abortion on Good Friday at Minn. Planned Parenthood (Lifesitenews.com)

[Pro-Life Action Ministries executive director Brian] Gibson reported that "Planned Parenthood (PP) aided in our time of prayer with scores of supporters coming who cheered the death of the innocent, jeered and mocked us, providing a fuller experiential glimpse of what Jesus endured for the salvation of the world which includes those PP supporters."

"My prayer for this event is that all who attend are enriched by God with an experience that aids them in a fuller understanding of what Jesus endured on the day He died for our salvation," said Gibson.

"And that we see the reality of the great harm abortion is to all of us, the need for repentance and forgiveness in Christ, and the need to continue this all-important work of stopping this evil."

Dawkins and Quakers

I know its a little late, but...
Outraged atheists lose faith in Dawkins as he censors website

The Christians that Dawkins surmounts (he thinks)
Still influence him when he announced (me thinks)
That the vitr'ol must end.
As if Quakers would lend
To a war that just can't be renounced.

Dear Dawkins owes much to the Church
In the 'land that was 'round at his birth.
As the Quakers must thank
The young men in the tank
Who just know what their freedom is worth.

Note:
I don't support ev'ry darn war
Just just ones - not one stinking more.
But some must be fought
This is more that a thought
Just think about Hitlers off shore.

Will Archbishop Gomez Reform LA RCC?

Condescending editorial, mean-spirited column greet Archbishop Gomez in Los Angeles
Some also are bound to be wary of his close association with Archbishop Charles J. Chaput [in youtube embed below], his mentor in Denver and one of the church's most stridently conservative voices. Chaput, for example, feels that Catholic office-holders who cast pro-choice votes ought to be denied Communion. He recently gave an address in Texas in which he argued that John F. Kennedy was wrong in insisting on separation of church and state.

In California, a staunchly Democratic state where one out of every four people is Catholic, that sort of confrontational leadership could have serious consequences.

Archdiocese Sees Record Year For New Members

Most leave due to some kind of hurt
From Priests, some kind of sin, or some sort.
But Most come to join
By the Truth that they find
In the Church Christ has made without tort.

It is not in the works that are done
Or the functions that are actu'ly quite fun.
But the acts of the head
To Whom she is wed
That the Church will be healed and be won.

Let us pray that the Church will endure
Through the Doc of the sick, not the pure.
For in failure and doubt
All it's members will shout
For the prize that's been won to be sure.

Modernism is Supernatural

The Real Problem Beneath the Pedophilia

Part of the above article for background of poem:
The secular press are fond of saying that the child abuse problem is caused by the demand for priestly celibacy. There is an underlying cause, but it's not that. The underlying cause is that too many Catholics have lost the plot completely. For the last forty years the church has been infected with modernism, and the key tenet of modernism is that there is no such thing as the supernatural. What you see is what you get.
Another puzzle piece for the poem:
Children shortly after birth think that when someone leaves their sight, they no longer exist. When they come back into sight, the person is perceived as coming back into existence.

The crisis that's hitting the Church
Just comes from the mind giv'n 'round birth.
If my Mom's out of sight,
I just might be "So bright!" [Read, "So big!]
Since I think that she's just left the Earth.

Just come back each day for a minute.
It takes much more time to begin it.

The Protesters may moan,
